Beyoğlu Kültür Yolu Festivali
Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy visited Akkent Şekerleme, an Afyonkarahisar company that also serves Istanbul, and wrapped Turkish delights.
The Beyoğlu Culture and Tourism Road Festival kicked off with the participation of Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy.
Minister Ersoy toured the exhibitions and art centers opened as part of the Culture Road Festival and then visited the Akkent Şekerleme shop at the Galataport Istanbul Package Post Office. Minister Ersoy participated in the "Ottoman 1860 Turkish Delight Wrapping" workshop, took a seat at the counter, wrapped Turkish delights, and cut them with scissors. Ersoy also offered the Turkish delights he had prepared himself to those present. The event, which was a lively event, was met with great enthusiasm.
Ahmet Akkent, owner of Akkent Şekerleme, expressed his delight at Minister Ersoy's visit, saying, "The deliciousness of Afyon Turkish Delight is undeniable. Our company produces Turkish delights, kaymaklı candy, savoury sweets, and palace halva."
