Leonidas Manon Cafe
Why the Manon Chocolate is So Special to Leonidas
The Manon holds a place of true distinction at Leonidas—a signature praline born from ingenuity and tradition. Originally, it featured nougatine with a walnut encased in sugar. But in 1980, Yanni Kestekoglou, a member of the Leonidas family, completely reinvented the recipe. He pioneered using white chocolate instead of sugar—a world-first. He also replaced the walnut with a roasted hazelnut (easier to store) and swapped nougatine for the beloved buttercream center. This creative transformation elevated the Manon into the creamy, crunchy classic it remains today, redefining Leonidas’ culinary craftsmanship.
