The beginning of our business dates back to 1965 when, in a hamlet of Cehegín, Murcia (El Chaparral), Alfonso Fernández Valera began roasting almonds in the village oven, packaging them, and distributing them to all the bars in the region. Little by little, his customers were demanding other products, so Alfonso decided to handcraft potato chips and pork rinds, thus expanding his market and becoming known throughout the Region of Murcia for his excellent potato chips. In the 1980s, following an increase in production, he decided to build new facilities with modern technology in keeping with the times. A generational change took place in the 1990s, improving on the previous success. In 2007, Patatas Fritas Rubio expanded again, this time with the construction and opening of a new factory in Bullas. The new facilities have allowed Patatas Rubio to increase production capacity and develop new product lines.
