Shoaib Awan is a food innovation leader and Senior Vice President – Innovation, Research & Development at Almoiz Industries Ltd. He has led more than 21 research projects focused on plant-based fibers, contributing to postgraduate research and the academic development of university students. He has also developed a novel plant-based dietary fiber ingredient derived from sugar beet biomass, with approximately four times its weight in water absorption capacity and potential applications in bakery, processed meat, and beverages to improve product yield, texture, and keeping quality.
